CAB protest: Bandh hits normal life in Arunachal Pradesh

  • The 11-hour North East bandh called by the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) and supported by All Arunachal Pradesh Students’ Union (AAPSU) against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), 2019 on Tuesday hits normal life in Arunachal Pradesh.
  • Shops, markets and business establishments kept their shutters down while all types of vehicles were off the road during the bandh in the capital city. Educational and financial institutions were also closed and there was thin attendance in government offices.
  • Pre-Board examination for class X and XII scheduled on Tuesday was  pushed back by the state’s Directorate of School Education while the Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) has postponed the undergraduate and postgraduate semester examinations scheduled for today. 
  • The APPSC has postponed Tuesday’s interview/viva-voice for the recruitment of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT)to December 21.
  • Report of from various parts of state has been received. leaving few stray incidents of tyre burning and road blockage  the bandh was peaceful.
