Amid talk of slowdown, Gujarat attracts Rs 18k cr FDI 

  • Amid indications of an economic slowdown, Gujarat has got Rs 18,325 crore foreign direct investment in the first quarter of the current financial year. 
     
  • This is 36% more than the entire FDI inflow of Rs 13,457 crore in Gujarat in the financial year 2018-19. 
     
  • State government sources say FDI is expected to cross the Rs 50,000 crore mark by the end of the financial year.
     
  • State government officials said there is a significant jump into the state in the first quarter of the ongoing financial year.
     
  • The official added, “Compared to national level actual foreign direct investment, Gujarat has the highest investment in the first quarter of the ongoing financial year."
