Amid talk of slowdown, Gujarat attracts Rs 18k cr FDI

Amid indications of an economic slowdown, Gujarat has got Rs 18,325 crore foreign direct investment in the first quarter of the current financial year.
This is 36% more than the entire FDI inflow of Rs 13,457 crore in Gujarat in the financial year 2018-19.
State government sources say FDI is expected to cross the Rs 50,000 crore mark by the end of the financial year.
State government officials said there is a significant jump into the state in the first quarter of the ongoing financial year.
The official added, “Compared to national level actual foreign direct investment, Gujarat has the highest investment in the first quarter of the ongoing financial year."
