Govt built 34 lakh toilets in 3 years across Assam: Sonowal

  • Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the state government has constructed 34 lakhs of toilets across Assam in three years.
 
  • Sonowal said the Assam government started constructing toilets in response to the call made by PM Narendra Modi.
 
  • Paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary,CM said that the Prime Minister has undertaken several initiatives inspired by Bapu’s ideals of Swacchata.
 
  • In this regard he said that due to people’s active participation, the Swacch Bharat Mission became a mass movement.
 
  •  He also urged people to take forward the Fit India Movement in a bid to build a healthy society.
