Congress rebel files papers from Jalalabad segment
- Fumed over granting of Congress ticket to Raminder Awla from the Jalalabad Assembly constituency, former senior Youth Congress leader Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate here today.
- Before filing his papers, Goldy held a meeting with his supporters in a private palace and decided to contest the elections as an Independent, giving the Congress a jolt.
- While addressing the gathering, Kamboj alleged that the Congress had betrayed the Jalalabad leaders.
- Terming Awla outsider, he said the party should roll back its decision of giving ticket to him (Awla).
- Thereafter they took out a procession and reached the Jalalabad SDM-cum-Returning Officer Keshav Goyal’s office to file his nomination.
