LDF wins pala byelections, Kappan wins by 2943 votes
- Mani C Kappan, candidate of LDF has won the Pala bypoll with a margin of 2943 votes against the UDF counterpart Jose Tom.
- Jose Tom could only gain upper hand in Mutholi, Meenachil and Kozhuvanal panchayats.
- LDF members had already started celebrating the victory of LDF's Mani C Kappan way ahead of the results.
- In an easy run in the bypoll, LDF gained 54137 votes, while UDF got 51194 and NDA got 18044 votes.
- Postal and service votes were counted first and was followed by the counting of votes in the EVMs. Counting was conducted in 13 rounds.
