Another poll clash for Congress-BJP in Rajasthan

  • The ruling Congress and opposition BJP will clash for the third time in ten months in Rajasthan as the state goes for by-polls for two assembly segments on October 21.

  • Mandawa in Jhunjhunu and Khimswar in Nagaur face elections after the sitting MLAs got elected MPs.

  • The BJP is in aggressive mode and has appointed Satish Poonia, a grassroots worker and a jat by caste, as its state president.

  • Ashok Gehlot feels Sachin Pilot has done too little to expect to become chief minister.

  • Poonia hopes that infighting will cost Congress by-polls and even lead to a collapse of government but such optimism can be far-fetched.
