Joint secretary candidate secures highest percent of vote for AISA at 20.5%

  • All India Students’ Association (AISA)’s Chetna secured the highest number of votes for the left students’ group party in the past five years.
  • The candidate for the joint-secretary post secured 11,000 votes, which was 20.5% of the total share.
  • “We got only two days for campaigning and saw violence as well. AISA still managed to increase its vote share this year on three posts, despite the polling percentage going down." said AISA Delhi president Kawalpreet Kaur.
  • AISA presidential vote share dipped to 11.1% from 12.51% when they were in an alliance with Chatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS).
  •  Earlier the group had registered its best vote share (17%) for the president’s post in 2014 elections.
