Civic body of Gujarat to study waste management from Indore and Ambikapur

The Gujarat government will now send officials of various municipal corporations and other civic bodies to Indore in MP and Ambikapur in Chhattisgarh, to study their sanitation and waste management process.
The teams will spend a week in these cities and observe all aspects of waste management and sanitation.
A top official said that the state government is aggressively pursuing sanitation measures with all urban local bodies (ULBs), which include eight municipal corporations and about 160 municipalities.
He stated,“These ULBs are being pushed to take concerted action to improve their rankings in the next Swachh Sarvekshan."
Indore topped the Swachhata Sarvekshan 2019, as the cleanest city in the country while Ambikapur, with a population of 1.96 lakh, stood second.
