Odisha to tweak motor vehicle rules to lower fine

 In a significant development that may bring respite for commuters, the Odisha Government is contemplating to bring in some changes in rules under the new Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Act-2019.
Speaking to media persons, Commerce and Transport Minister Padmanabh Behera informed that the state Government is weighing options to lessen the amount of fine imposed on traffic violators. Apparently, the move comes days after imposition of hefty fine for traffic violations that triggered huge outrage among public in the state.
The changes in the new fine amount may be decided after a review meeting to be held tomorrow, sources said.
