TN CM visits US dairy farm, explores options for setting up livestock park in Salem

On Monday, his first day in the US, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami visited a dairy farm at Buffalo. The Chief Minister reached New York on Monday morning and was received by a group of state ministers and members from the Tamil diaspora.
According to reports, the aim of the CM’s visit to the dairy farm was to know more about the improved breeds of cows and new technologies in processing dairy products, a precursor to the state government’s efforts to set up a livestock park in Thalaivasal, Salem.

During his visit, the Chief Minister also enquired about the cross-breeding of cows, maintenance of good health of livestock and genetic preservation methods for native breeds of cattle. Tamil Nadu Minister for Industries MC Sampath, Minister for Dairy Development KT Rajenthra Bhalaji, Minister for Information Technology RB Udhayakumar and other senior bureaucrats from the state government were also a part of the delegation that visited the dairy farm.
