Karnataka CM Yediyurappa to meet Maharashtra CM today

In his first visit to a neighbouring state after taking over as the Karnataka chief minister, BS Yediyurappa will meet his Maharashtra counterpart today.
The CM left Bengaluru for Mumbai at 8.50 am and will be back to the city by 7.15 pm, according to the Karnataka CMO. His meeting with Devendra Fadnavis will take place in Mumbai during the day. The CM is accompanied by deputy CM Ashwathnarayan and Home Minister Basavraj Bommai along with other top bureaucrats from the state.
Besides his meeting with Maharashtra CM Yediyurappa will also attend Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, former Karnataka deputy CM G Parameshwara alleged 'witch-hunt' by the government against opposition leaders and intellectuals. He added that the way Shivakumar was treated shows how "brazen and vindictive" the government has turned out to be.
