CM asked to clarify on national project status for Kaleshwaram

Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy has requested Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to reveal whether the Union Minister of State for Water Resources Ratanlal Kataria’s statement on Telangana government not submitting all the details for Kaleshwaram project while seeking its status as national project was true or false.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Reddy said Mr. Kataria had clearly stated in the Rajya Sabha on July 1 that Telangana government has not submitted its request with all the details to the High Power Committee looking into national status for projects. The answer was given to a question raised by M.A. Khan, he said.
If this was false, a privilege motion should be moved against the Minister or else the Chief Minister should clarify on the present position, he said. Mr. Reddy said Telangana would get 40% of the project cost, which is ₹40,000 crore out of the ₹ 1 lakh crore being spent on Kaleshwaram. “The State is not in a position to lose such huge support,” he said and asked CM to release a white paper on the subject.
