Sikh girl issue: Ramoowalia seeks Pak PM’s intervention

Incumbent MLC from Uttar Pradesh and former Union Minister BS Ramoowalia on Saturday urged the Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan vide Pakistan High Commission here to intervene forthwith for return of the Sikh teenage girl, who was forcibly converted to Islam subsequently married in Pakistan’s Punjab province, to her family.
In a letter to Pakistan High Commissioner, Ramoowalia asked Khan to ensure that conversion and other forms of religious persecutions of Hindus and Sikh be stopped in Pakistan.
“I am writing this letter with grief and deep sense of hurt, which echoes the sentiments of larger number of Hindus and Sikhs across the world, over the incident,” said Ramoowalia addressing Khan, and added it also deigns on the latter to be cognisant of the imperative of harmony and peace full coexistence of Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians in the Indian subcontinent.
