Ramdas says he is not disappointed and will attend Dasara programmes

The absence of former Minister S.A. Ramdas from most Dasara-related preparatory programmes in Mysuru had led to speculation that the veteran BJP MLA from Krishnaraja constituency is staying away because of his “disappointment” over being denied a Cabinet berth. But Mr. Ramdas on Saturday clarified that he was not disappointed. He said he has been unable to attend programmes held under the chairmanship of Minister V. Somanna because of health reasons.
Govt. urged to open procurement centres
Mr. Ramdas, who attended the Gajapayana programme on August 22, two days after Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa constituted his Cabinet, had met with an accident in Dakshina Kannada district in the early hours of August 23. The former Minister, who has been conspicuous by his absence at most of the Dasara-related programmes, including the first meeting of the Dasara Executive Committee, was, however, present at the function held in Mysuru on Saturday to launch the Dasara website and release posters for the festival.
‘Will be present in future’
He told reporters that he was still recovering from the accident, and that was the reason he could not make it to the padayatra programme taken up by Mr. Somanna to inspect the Rajamarga, or the route taken by the Dasara procession, early on Saturday morning. Mr. Ramdas also said that he would participate in all the future Dasara-related programmes.
