Edu dept asks all schools to telecast PM’s speech

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch nationwide 'Fit India Movement' on Thursday, in Goa, the Directorate of Education has asked schools to administer 'fitness pledge' to all its students and teachers. In a circular issued to Heads of Institutions, Education Director, Nagaraj Honnekeri has asked all government, aided and un-aided schools, right from the primary to the higher secondary school level, to make necessary arrangements to view the live telecast of Prime Minister's launch event in their respective schools.

"Urge all the students and teachers to take the fitness pledge," said the director. The schools have also been asked to conduct any other fitness activity, in addition to the launch programme. In addition, schools have been asked to submit the photographs and reports of the event coverage, with short video clips of the activities held, to the Block Resource Centre of Goa Samagra Shiksha along with compliance report on August 30.  The 'Fit India Movement' is a movement that is aimed at taking the country ahead on the path of fitness. The essence of the movement is to make the country fit, well and healthy.
