Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that attempts were being made to bring disrepute to the State government. The government’s detractors were unable to digest the good deeds and efforts of the government to keep its promises made to the people.
Mr. Jagan was addressing review meetings on Spandana, implementation of social welfare schemes, recruitment of village volunteers, launching of Rythu Bharosa programme, sand policy, housing policy, sports and financial support to AgriGold victims, on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister said the new sand policy would come into effect from September 5. “The officials have to ensure availability of sand at lower rates than the current prices. The government will start the supply of quality rice in Srikakulam from September as a pilot project. Unless sand supply is stepped up, the rates will not come down. Sand should be stored at stockyards, which are already identified. Increase the sand reaches wherever there is a possibility,” he said.
Framing time-lines for the implementation of welfare schemes, programmes and other policies, the government would start giving ₹10,000 yearly assistance as announced to auto and cab drivers from the last week of September. ‘YSR Rythu Bharosa’ under which farmers will be given financial assistance would be implemented from October 15, Mr. Jagan said.
