BJP trying to divide and rule T.N.: Udhayanidhi

DMK youth wing secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin on Sunday alleged that the BJP was adopting the “divide and rule” policy of the British in India as it was not able to win over the people of Tamil Nadu.
“People of Tamil Nadu were nurtured by ideas of social justice propagated by Dravidian leaders such as Periyar, Anna and Kalaignar. As it has failed in its efforts, the BJP has adopted divide and rule method as a last weapon,” he said accusing the AIADMK government of remaining a slave to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“While the BJP is running an anti-people government, it seeks to portray the DMK as an anti-Hindu party. How is it be possible for the DMK to have many MPs and MLAs without the support of the Hindus,” he said addressing a meeting of the youth wing in Chennai.
“As far as we are concerned we follow the dictum of our party founder Anna that we will not break Pillaiyar idols nor will we break coconut as offering to Pillaiyar. But we should keep in mind that the majority should protect the minorities. We have done it so far and will continue to do it,” he added.
