It may be recalled that various patients complained of misinformation and charging by private hospitals empanelled by Health Department for DDSSY. Several patients, who went directly to private hospitals, too have been overcharged. The display of boards is set to bring more transparency into the process.  A relative of Chandrawati Salkar, who was taken to a private hospital and later to GMC informed that Chandrawati, has been successfully treated and is doing well now.
He said, "Though we had to pay money for angiography we were not asked by any authority at any point in time to either pay deposit or to choose a private hospital. We paid the charges willingly but also feel that patients insured under DDSSY shouldn't ideally be charged at all.”
