The PWD Minister, Deepak Pauskar assured that water supply to Mapusa will be restored on Thursday. This was disclosed by the minister at an urgent meeting held to solve the problem faced by people. The meeting was attended by the Mapusa MLA, Joshua Dsouza; Chairperson, Ryan Braganza and all the councillors. The PWD Minister informed that 15 MLD will be supplied to entire Mapusa for three to four hours on a daily basis from Thursday.
"An incident like this should not happen in the future. We will appoint a consultant and take a report from him to ascertain the reason behind dirty water being supplied. The 15 MLD water treatment plant for Porvorim and surrounding areas will take off the load from the Assonora water treatment plant to a great extent,” said Pauskar. He also agreed that this dirty  water being supplied in Bardez is bad for health and the PWD will be responsible for outbreak of any epidemic. When asked what was the reason behind the dirty water supply to Bardez taluka. The Minister hurriedly replied, “The water filter at the water treatment plant at Assonora does not clear the water during the heavy rains. Assonora plant gets water from the Tillari canal. We will take the necessary precautions before the monsoons next year”.
