Fan KCR urges Viswanath to helm another social film

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday displayed a new side of his personality as he had his ‘fan boy moment’ with famous Telugu movie director K Viswanath.
The Chief Minister called on ‘Kalatapasvi’ Viswanath at his residence in Filmnagar here and spent about an hour-and-a-half talking about cinema, politics and development. In fact, the event was a significant one with Chandrashekhar Rao offering to turn producer if the ageing veteran director, who has kept himself away from movie-making for nearly a decade now, were to choose to direct a movie with a message for the society.
The Chief Minister also informed Viswanath that the Telangana government will introduce a comprehensive policy for film development in the State soon. Chandrashekhar Rao also made no bones about his admiration for Viswanath. “I am your fan and watched your movies since when I was young. I have watched every one of your movie multiple times,” he told Viswanath.
On the super blockbuster Shankarabharanam movie that Viswanath helmed, Chandrashekhar Rao said: “I watched Shankarabharanam more than 25 times. Every time I watched a movie of yours, I wanted to meet you. That wish finally came true today”.
