The programme was meant to congratulate the Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their bold decision in abrogating special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution and passing the bill for bifurcation of the state into two Union Territories. The programme was attended by Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, deputy chairperson of Mormugao Municipal Council Reema Sonurlekar, Vasco BJP president Rajan Dicholkar, Vasco BJP Mahila Morcha president Supriya Naik, former chairperson of MMC Deepak Naik, BJP state executive committee member Jayant Jadhav, councillor Yatin Kamurlekar and others. Tendulkar recalled that some 25 years ago he had highlighted the issue pertaining to the need for abrogating special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution during his speech at Saptah fair.
