NFHRCC hands over ABAM’s contribution to State Govt

The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has handed over the contribution of Rs 36, 56,282 by the Ao Baptist Arogo Mungdang’s (ABAM) towards the construction of Naga Survival Road (Erstwhile Foothill Road) to the State Government.  
While appreciating the contribution and saying it was humbled by the initial gesture of ABAM, the NFHRCC in a press release stated that after a “thorough deliberation it was agreed upon to hand over the said contributions to the State Government for better coordination.”

The cheque was handed over to Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in the presence the Minister for Road & Bridges Tongpang Ozukum, along with NFHRCC representatives and ABAM Executive Secretary, Rev Mar Atsongchanger, it said. 

During the handing over, Rev Mar also informed that the money was a one-time contribution from all the churches under ABAM collected as a token of concern and gratitude from the people towards the project, it added. 
Meanwhile, during a consultative meeting held in Dimapur on August 9, the Committee also “reaffirmed its unflinching commitment to support the Government in all possible manners, till the dream project of the rechristen Nagaland Expressway becomes a reality.”

It further acknowledged the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio for his untiring commitment to the historic road for the Nagas.
“The final clearance of the project is awaited at PMO’s office in New Delhi,” stated NFHRCC in the release jointly issued by its Convener Subu Jamir, General Secretary W Lemba Chang and Asst Gen Secretary Chenithung Humtsoe.
