Odisha creates 2000 new medical officer posts

The Odisha Government has approved creation of 2,000 more posts of Leave Training Reserve Medical Officer (LTRMO) for peripheral health institutions of the state.
“I am directed to convey the sanction of Governor for creation of 2000 posts of LTRMO in the rank of Group A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and Health Services (OMHS) Cadre in the scale of pay of level-12 of Pay Matrix of ORSP Rules, 2017 for the peripheral health institutions of the state,” Health Department Secretary Pramod Kumar Meherda wrote in a letter to the Principal Accountant General, Odisha.
The posts will be filled up through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The doctors will be posted at Primary Health Centres (PHC), Community Health Centres (CHC) and Sub-Divisional Hospitals in the state.
Health Minister Nabakishore Das said appointment of LTRMOs will help bridge the gap between the number of recruited doctors and actually present doctors.
