Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), led by Sharad Pawar has received a major shock after the Mumbai unit chief Sachin Ahir joined the Shiv Sena. At a time of crisis, many of its established faces are seen abandoning the party for their own personal motives. They are said to be joining the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena, the current ruling alliance in the state.
In Kokan, former NCP minister Madhukarrao Pichad and his son, MLA Vaibhav Pichad are in touch with the BJP and may soon join the party sources say.
Chhagan Bhujbal was rumored to join the Shiv Sena. However, he has stated it to be political gossip and expressed displeasure over the news.
After the news of Bhujbal's return to Shiv Sena, Ravindra Tiwari, a Shiv Sainik, put out hoardings saying that Bhujbal should not be allowed in the Sena and he has completely forgotten Balasaheb Thackeray, and he must not be forgiven.
