Sangareddy MLA Jagga Reddy was taken into custody on Monday while he was heading to Jaladeeksha. The police intercepted Reddy's convoy and arrested him. Reddy has been demanding the government to transfer Godavari water to Sangareddy as the town is suffering from lack of drinking water. He also said that he will begin 'Jaladeeksha' until the government assures to transfer the water.

In the context, the MLA who was heading to stage protest was arrested and sent to Kondapur police station. Jaggareddy has been accusing Harish Rao of lack of drinking water in Sangareddy. He alleged that Rao had shifted the water from Singur reservoir to Siddipet which lead to water scarcity in Sangareddy.
