Uddhav warns Insurance Firms of Sena-style agitation as Party focuses on farmers ahead of Maharashtra Polls

Ahead of the Assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena’s focus is back on farmers in the state and party chief Uddhav Thackeray’s prime target is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship scheme: Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. He has warned the insurance companies of a ‘Sena-style’ agitation if they fail to settle the claims of the farmers.
The Shiv Sena president has also decided to meet Modi to seek a special session in the Parliament to highlight farmers’ issues.
Despite being in power, the party is once again following an Opposition-like strategy. It had benefited by opting for a similar strategy before the Lok Sabha elections and is hoping that a similar move will boost its performance in the coming Vidhan Sabha elections as well.
