Vamsadhara: Minister for talks with Odisha CM

Minister for Endowments and in-charge for the Srikakulam district Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao has said that he will request Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to hold talks with his counterpart in Odisha Naveen Patnaik to find out a permanent solution to the Vamsadhara water sharing issue. According to him, the project is delayed following deadlock over land acquisition to be taken up in Odisha.
Along with Minister for R and B Dharmana Krishnadas, he held a high-level review meeting at the Srikakulam Collector’s office and directed the officials to submit a detailed report to the government on the Vamsahdara issue. He asked Collector J. Nivas to initiate action against the contractors who failed to execute the Vamsadhara phase-2 works properly. “Put those contractors in the blacklist and speed up project works since the Vamsadhara phase-2 is lifeline for the entire district. The officials should visit the project and find out other reasons for delay in execution of the project,” he said.
