‘Goa’s mining imbroglio is peculiar’

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday said that Goa’s mining imbroglio is peculiar, and hence the central government will have to find out a solution to the issue within the ambit of law.
Interacting with media persons on Saturday at Sankhali while launching the BJP’s membership drive, Goyal said the Centre is committed to resolve the mining imbroglio.
The state legal department and the Union law ministry have been examining all legal aspects to give relief to mining dependants of the state, he said.
“Goa’s mining issue is little bit difficult… It has to be resolved within the framework of law.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has been holding regular meetings with the central leadership of the party, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the mining issue,” he explained.
The Union minister maintained that the Supreme Court had said in its order in the Coalgate scam that all natural resources must be auctioned, adding that the Union government will explore a  solution   respecting laws and the apex court judgment.
