Arunachal Pradesh officially announced that no Japanese encephalitis case has so far been reported from anywhere in the State.
This was confirmed by state epidemiologist Dr L Jampa.
However, a final report is expected by Monday evening after reports come in from all the districts.
He also dispelled fears among the residents of the neighbouring areas bordering Assam as the disease has been reported from the nieghbouring state.
Dr Jampa while appealing to the people not to panic also assured that all all precautionary measures have been taken to control and prevent Japanese encephalitis.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old girl died of Japanese encephalitis at Pathsala in Barpeta district of Assam on Sunday.
Earlier, following the report of the outbreak of Japanese Encephalitis in Assam, the central government has sent a team to review the situation in the State.
The central team is headed by additional secretary Sanjeeva Kumar and he is accompanied by the senior officers from the National Vector Borne Diseases Control Programme, New Delhi, a health ministry statement said.
Union health minister Harsh Vardhan directed the ministry to extend all support and assistance to the state government.
Minister Vardhan called upon all the stakeholders to start rigorous awareness campaigns regarding the preventive steps to be taken by the communities.
