DMK leader and Lok Sabha member Kanimozhi on Saturday alleged that the Edappadi K Palaniswami government was scared to get drinking water offered by "Communist government" of Kerala, as it would upset Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kanimozhi was speaking at a meeting in Broadway to protest against the administrative failure of the government in resolving the water shortage.

"Our leader M K Stalin even made a request to Kerala chief minister to send water. But our chief minister does not have concerns as that of the opposition leader," she said, taking a dig at the AIADMK government for stating that Kerala's offer was insufficient, even as Chennai was in dire need of whatever supply.
