CBI books ex-Arunachal CM Nabam Tuki’s brother on graft charges

Nabam Hari, the brother of former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki, his wife Nabam Mary and some PWD officials in the state have been booked by CBI on charges of anomalies in awarding government contracts.
The case is relating to contracts handed by Tuki as the PWD minister in the state to his kith and kin for “selfish gains without inviting tenders”, the CBI has alleged.
The central investigating agency  had began a preliminary inquiry in 2017, on the orders of the Gauhati High Court, to look into allegations against Tuki, who was then PWD minister and awarded 11 government contracts to his relatives in 2005 for ‘personal gains’.
Official sources said one such works was related to construction of a Kendriya Vidyalaya building in Umroi cantonment, Shillong.
