Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Thursday visited the relatives of the family of six people who died when their house collapsed in Basavakalyan. Nadeem Yusuf, 42, his wife, and four children died in the incident at Chilla Galli in the town on Wednesday. Mr. Kumaraswamy handed over a cheque for ₹24 lakh to Yusuf’s father.
He directed the Bidar district administration to conduct a survey to identify dilapidated houses constructed for more than 100 years ago across the district. Families living in such houses should be shifted by allocating them new houses under any of the housing schemes, he said.
