Pinarayi Vijayan seeks UDF support for Loka Kerala Sabha

Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Thursday appealed UDF members in the assembly to review their decision to distance themselves from the activities of Loka Kerala Sabha. Repeating his appeal in the assembly, Vijayan said he believed opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and other UDF members ‘would change their minds’.

“The Loka Kerala Sabha was constituted to intensify the involvement of Malayali expatriates in Kerala’s development. Using their experience and expertise are part of this move...It has not been set up as an arrangement that lasts only during a single government’s term. But it is unfortunate that the opposition leader and members have decided not to cooperate with the Loka Kerala Sabha. It would only help to create an impression that we stand divided on matters of development and would send out a wrong message to the world,” Vijayan said while replying to discussions on demand for grants for Norka department.
