Tentative allocation of Rs. 65.489 crore for border area development

Arunachal Chief Secretary Satya Gopal  chaired the 36th state level screening committee meeting on Border Area Development Programme (BADP) at his office in Itanagar.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has conveyed a tentative allocation for an amount of Rs. 65.489 crore (with 10 per cent state’s share) for 2019-20 under BADP for Arunachal Pradesh.
Taking stock of the annual action plan submitted by the deputy commissioners of the state, Gopal emphasized on beneficiary oriented projects, and doubling of income of the farmers through BADP.
“Incorporate income generating activities helping an average of 100 beneficiaries in each block of a model village under BADP,” he said.
Stating that schemes should benefit the public and percolate down to them, the chief secretary added that criteria for selection of beneficiaries should be farmer(s) or families whose income is below Rs 2.5 lakh per annum, landless labourers, marginal and small farmers etc.
