Don't spare criminals: Eminent Muslims from Bengal tell CM Mamata Banerjee

A group of eminent Muslim citizens from Kolkata have written to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over her state government's alleged policy of minority appeasement.
The group of signatories have taken note of two recent incidents of crumbling law and order situation in West Bengal -- the assault on a junior doctor of the Neel Ratan Sarkar (NRS) Medical College in Kolkata as well as the harassment of former Miss India Universe Ushoshi Sengupta.
The commonality in both incidents was that those accused of assault are Muslims. "We are grieved and embarrassed," wrote the group.
The letter was shared by columnist Mudar Patherya on Facebook.
