Thackeray Jr. is likely to contest Maharashtra state polls

Shiv Sena is contemplating if the party president Uddhav Thackeray's son Aditya Thackeray should contest Assembly elections. Aditya has been mulling the possibility of contesting the election this time. If Aditya contests the Maharashtra Assembly election, which is scheduled in October, it will be a major shift from the party's unwritten policy that no 'Thackeray' will ever contest the election.
The party is in search of suitable constituency as well as some leaders think that Aditya should chose a constituency from rural Maharashtra, whereas people close to Aditya believe that the south or central Mumbai constituencies will be better suited for him as Mumbai is Shiv Sena's bastion. The speculations started when Aditya met party workers from Worli and Mahim Assembly constituencies in Mumbai (the party has a stronghold in both the constituencies). Even in Lok Sabha polls, these seats gave sizable lead to the winning Shiv Sena candidate.
