The Kerala State Women’s Commission should think and function irrespective of political affiliations, Ramya Haridas, the only woman candidate elected to the Lok Sabha from the State, has said.
“During the campaign, I had approached the commission after certain persons made some humiliating comments against me. But the commission neglected it and took no action. I was not expecting this from a government that keeps professing about the necessity to protect renaissance values. But I am happy to hear that the Left Democratic Front leadership has finally realised this mistake,” she said, speaking at a meet-the-press programme organised by the Kollam Press Club here on Sunday.
