PM Narendra Modi to visit Gujarat; address public meeting in Ahmedabad today

 In his first visit after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) swept the Lok Sabha elections 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to Gujarat and address a public meeting in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

During the visit, Modi is also expected to visit his mother Hiraba Modi to seek her blessings as he resumes the office for a second term. Modi is expected to reach Ahmedabad by 6:20 pm today. He will be addressing a jan sabha or public meeting at 6:50 pm.

In Ahmedabad, he will be felicitated by Gujarat unit of party along with BJP president Amit Shah on Friday. BJP state president Jitu Vaghani said both Modi and Shah will reach Ahmedabad Friday evening and visit the party office in Khanpur. 
"Our own Narendrabhai, who belongs to the entire country and the world, will visit his home state tomorrow along with our national president, who successfully managed the world's largest political party in a way that it made inroads in states where it was not present and won the election massively," Vaghani told the news agency PTI.
On May 28, the prime minster will embark on a thanksgiving procession in his parliamentary constituency Varanasi. Modi routed his nearest rival Shalini Yadav of Samajwadi Party (SP) by a margin of nearly 4.8 lakh.
