Jagan Mohan Reddy to meet Modi; discuss SCS to Andhra

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and Chief Minister-designate Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy left for New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday.
According to an official source, Mr. Jagan is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister at noon, after which he is expected to interact with Andhra Pradesh Bhavan officials in the capital.
Mr. Jagan, whose party secured a landslide victory in the general elections, is likely to discuss various issues including Special Category Status (SCS) and extending issue-based support to the NDA government.
During his election campaign, the YSRCP chief had said his party would support whoever promises SCS to Andhra Pradesh and made it clear in Saturday's YSRC Legislature Party meeting that SCS topped his agenda.
Meanwhile, May 30 has been finalised as the date for swearing-in of Mr. Jagan as the CM at Indira Gandhi Stadium in Vijayawada, for which he invited Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao and other dignitaries.
