The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) observed 28th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi by organising a commemorative meet here on Tuesday.
Senior party leaders, including TPCC president N. Uttam Kumr Reddy, former PCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, K. Jana Reddy, T. Jeevan Reddy, Md. Ali Shabbir, V. Hanumantha Rao, Mallu Ravi and Kathi Venkataswamy, paid floral tributes to Rajiv Gandhi by garlanding his statue at Somajiguda circle.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Uttam Kumar Reddy attributed the present-day information revolution such as high use of mobile phones and computers to the reforms introduced by late Rajiv Gandhi as the Prime Minister.
Condemning the remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Rajiv Gandhi, he said it was the then Prime Minister who strengthened the Panchayat Raj system in the country.
