Arunachal MLA shot dead along with family members in Tirap

11 persons including NPP candidate and sitting MLA of 56 Khonsa West Tirong Aboh and his family members were shot dead on Tuesday morning by suspected NCSN (IM) militants at Bogapani in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Sources said that the MLA and his family were travelling in an SUV from upper Assam’s Dibrugarh to Khonsa when the incident took place.
According to reports, Aboh and his younger son died on the spot. One of Aboh’s PSO is said to be in a critical condition and is undergoing treatment.
Tirong Aboh was contesting the assembly elections this year as a National People’s Party (NPP) candidate.
Earlier, NSCN (IM) allegedly threatened him for campaign for the NPP.
