'Federal Front will be reality, May 23 results to be different': TRS rejects exit polls

With most exit polls on Sunday predicting a comfortable victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) said that they were not accurate and did not reflect the true picture. The TRS, which is trying to bring together the regional parties under the Federal Front, believes the results on May 23 would be different and in line with its expectations.
Speaking to TNM, TRS spokesman Abid Rasool Khan said, "We are of the opinion that the exit polls are not on the mark. We are confident that the results would be different from what has been predicted in the exit polls. It was a polarised election and people have not come out and stated their choice for their fear of reprisals."
Most exit polls predicted about 300 seats for the BJP-led NDA. Khan, however, was confident that the regional parties would do well and form a non-BJP and non-Congress government.
