West Sikkim district administration ready for counting day

A meeting on arrangements for the counting of votes with the candidates and political representatives was conducted at the Zilla Bhawan in Sikkim’s Geyzing on Saturday. This was informed by an official press statement. The meeting was chaired by the deputy commissioner-cum-DEO (west) Karma R Bonpo along with superintendent of police (west) Tenzing Loden Lepcha, ADC (west) Karma Lodey Lepcha, SDM (HQ) Tushar G Nikhare, Geyzing SDM Gilbert Lepcha and Dentam SDM Bimal Rai.

The district collector congratulated all the candidates and the political parties of West Sikkim for making the election process peaceful and non-violent.
He briefed them extensively on the arrangements of the counting halls where a total of four halls have been designated for the counting purposes.
Assembly segment of Parliamentary constituency will take place in the two halls of the BRC halls of Kyongsa Girls School where each room will have the counting of four constituencies each.
Similarly, for counting of the eight Assembly constituencies, the auditorium hall of Kyongsa S S school has been designated which has been partitioned into two separate halls for the counting of the eight Assembly constituencies in a similar manner along with the postal ballots in one and Sangha in another.
