Times Now-ORG Tamil Nadu Exit Poll 2014 Lok Sabha Election India Result

The exit polls of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu will be released today, as the country is witnessing the last and seventh phase of the voting. The voting in 59 constituencies across eight states including Varanasi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is seeking re-election, is underway. The ongoing general elections have been conducted in seven phases, starting April 11 and ending May 19. Times Now and VMR will present the exit poll on Sunday, four days before the announcement of results on May 23. In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Times Now-ORG poll survey predicted that the AIADMK could win 30 of 39 parliamentary seats in Tamil Nadu and the DMK could manage to bag eight seats. It predicted just one seat for the Congress and no seat for the BJP. Tamil Nadu went to polls this year in a single phase on April 18. The prominent parties that are in the fray in the state are AIADMK, DMK and AMMK. The two major players – AIADMK and DMK – contested the polls without their leaders – J Jayalalithaa and M Karunanidhi. Jayalalithaa died in 2016 while Karunanidhi breathed his last in 2018. Following the demise of Jayalalithaa, the AIADMK split into two factions - one led by VK Sasikala, Jayalalithaa’s longtime aide, and another led by the then Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu O Panneerselvam. Meanwhile, TTV Dhinakaran, nephew of Sasikala, formed AMMK. The AIADMK and AMMK are fighting to stake claim to the legacy of Jayalalithaa. On the other hand, DMK leader Stalin is seeking to take forward the legacy of his father, Karunanidhi.
