In a 500-page chargesheet, Rajasthan police has levelled allegations under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Information Technology (IT) Act. Alwar superintendent of police (SP) Paresh Anil Deshmukh said that while five of the suspects have been charged with kidnapping, assault, disrobing, dacoity and gang-rape, the sixth accused has been booked for circulating a video of the heinous act on social media and other platforms.
Deshmukh also said that the chargesheet has been filed with a special additional district judge (ADJ) SC/ST fast-track court and the next hearing in the matter has been scheduled to take place on May 22. Several types of evidence, including technical evidence, the opinions of forensic experts and medical reports have been included within the chargesheet apart from analytical notes.
The video of the crime which was shot by one of the accused has also been added to the chargesheet and a voice test of the same was conducted by members of the forensic science laboratory (FSL) team, the report of which is still awaited. The six accused were arrested by police from various parts of the country after Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot instructed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) to personally look into the matter and produce immediate results.
