CM diverting Maharashtra water to Gujarat: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has accused Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of releasing water from Maharashtra to Gujarat, “at a time when 13 districts in the state are reeling under severe drought”. “Fadnavis has released water to Gujarat in order to please Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, just when our state needs it,” said Nitin Bhosale, a former legislator of the MNS.
The water has been released for agricultural purposes, said Bhosale. No such agreement on water-sharing during the Congress-Nationalist Congress government existed, he said. Further, he alleged, Fadnavis was spreading false information through his speeches and misleading the public.  “He is not obstructing the flow of water to Gujarat and he does not care about his own state,” the MNS leader has claimed. When the MNS raised the issue before Fadnavis, he reportedly said, they did not have enough money to avoid this. “When the Union government releases funds, we can consider,” said Fadnavis. Bhosale has said he will undertake a tour to survey the impact of the drought in 13 districts.
