Opposition launches protest as 21 students commit suicide after failing in exams

pposition parties in Telangana, including Telugu Desam Party (TPD), Jana Sena Party and Congress, launched a protest against K Chandrasekhar Rao-led government on Monday in Hyderabad’s Nampally district.
The protest was organised after 21 students committed suicide in the state after failing in the intermediate exams on Sunday.
A faulty evaluation system lead to the failure of 3.28 lakh students out of 9.74 lakh students, who had appeared in the intermediate examination in March this year.
An indefinite hunger strike was also launched by the BJP state unit chief K Laxman demanding judicial probe, removal of education minister Guntakandla Jagdishwar Reddy and sacking of secretary of Board of Intermediate Education.
There was chaos outside Telangana Intermediate Council board office at Nampally district, where workers of various opposition parties including Congress, TDP, Jana Sena and Left parties were detained from the state.
