MDA govt to continue even if govt changes in Delhi: Meghalaya CM

Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K. Sangma said the MDA government will continue to work even if there is change of guard at the Centre.
“We are very clear that for us, the MDA government will continue. Whatever happens in Delhi is something which the people of this country will decide. But I think the way we have started and how we are doing our work, we will continue to do our work. In the same way, but let us wait for the results and once it comes out, only then we will come to know on what really is going to happen. Let us wait for May 23,” he said
The MDA government, led by the NPP, is being supported by the UDP, PDF, HSPDP, BJP, NCP and Independents.
Asked if the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) will affect the MDA in this Lok Sabha election, the chief minister said that the CAB has been a concern of every single citizen of the Northeast and the country as a whole.
“There is no doubt that CAB is an issue, and the people are concerned about it. I am sure this will be an issue that people must have thought off during the campaign and also during the voting, and that is the reason why all political parties mentioned about the CAB,” he said.
