Telangana police seize Rs 4.92 cr unaccounted cash

A huge amount of cash meant for distribution in the Lok Sabha polls during the first phase has been confiscated by the Telangana police in the last two days. The police also arrested six people for transporting the unaccounted money in huge denominations.  
Disclosing this at a press conference here City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar said that Rs 4.92 crore unaccounted cash was seized fewer than eight police station limits. Task Force officers from West, North and Central Zones participated in this operation. Persons were arrested from Panjagutta, Malakpet and Banjara Hills police station limits.  
Police during a raid in an apartment in Somajiguda, arrested M Satwik Reddy and Sourav Goyal, both businessmen from Rajendra Nagar, for having an amount of Rs 26.19 lakh of unaccounted money. Also on a tip-off, North Zone Task Force team intercepted a car near Moosarambagh and took into custody T Kasinath Reddy, a businessman Bhukya Ravi, driver of that car. They were carrying Rs 34.30 lakh cash. The money the CP said was meant for distribution at the Malkajigiri constituency.
