Veteran actor and former Samajwadi Party MP joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, 26 March, just days before the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections. Notably, this is the fifth political party that Jaya Prada is joining. In the past, she had been part of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Samajwadi Party (SP), AmarSingh's Rashtriya Lok Manch and the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).
